Job Title: Visitor Information Centre Travel Counsellor & Campground Assistant
Location: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Employment Type: Seasonal (May – October)
Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
Job Overview:
The Lunenburg Board of Trade is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Visitor Information Centre Travel Counsellors. This role is based at our Visitor Information Centre (VIC) in the historic UNESCO Town of Lunenburg and also includes supporting the daily operations of the Lunenburg RV Park & Campground.

Key Responsibilities:
Visitor Information Centre Duties:
- Greet and assist visitors by providing up-to-date information on attractions, accommodations, events, and experiences in Lunenburg and the surrounding areas.
- Answer inquiries in person, by phone, and via email, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Promote local businesses, festivals, and activities to enhance visitors' time in Lunenburg.
- Maintain brochures, maps, and tourism materials in an organized and accessible manner.
- Track visitor statistics and provide feedback to support tourism development efforts.
Lunenburg RV Park & Campground Duties:
- Assist with campground reservations, check-ins, and check-outs using the online booking system.
- Provide customer service to campers, ensuring they have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
- Address general inquiries and resolve minor guest concerns.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the campground office and public areas.
- Assist with light administrative tasks related to campground operations.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Lunenburg and surrounding areas, or a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using computers for reservations, email communication, and visitor inquiries.
- Social media knowledge is an asset, including content creation and engagement strategies to help promote tourism and campground services.
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed.
